trash to treasure
The chairs in the condition we got them – the left one, a hideously ugly gold and the right one, a solid navy blue.
Yay! All done! We recovered half of the chairs (left) in a green, steel blue, and tan stripe and the other half (right) in a graphic pattern of the same colors.
i am so thrilled to finally have a dining room table and chairs! it’ll be so much better for entertaining – here come the dinner parties, haha! t and i did the work ourselves, and he was even a good sport and helped me pick out fabric (accumulating brownie points, no doubt). i’m hoping to find a coordinating 3rd fabric to make a runner or window valances to complete the room. overall, i’m pretty pleased with this whole experience – from buying off of craigslist to the recovering process. i love that we totally saved these pieces of furniture from going into a dump somewhere, and by doing so, saved ourselves major moolah. ahhhh, success. ain’t it sweet?
city cruiser
I’ve been eyeing dutch-style bicycles like this one for over a year now. I can’t help it, I am completely in love with them. Check out these lovelies and these and these. Sure, they only have 3 speeds, but what more do i need in the city? It’d be perfect for biking to work, to the grocery store, or taking a pleasure cruise around the neighborhood. So that settles it-this spring I WILL HAVE ONE (saving begins now).
